Day 04 - A picture of your night:
Yes, it's the facebook symbol. Avery & I are just chilling out tonight and I played on facebook. There's really nothing else exciting about our night.

New Cycle Begins
As suspected, AF showed up, so a new cycle begins. We are going to try a different drug this month and then hopefully be able to do the IUI. However, you know how things don't go to plan...so after tomorrow's doctor's appointment we'll have our plan for the month, hopefully.
I am thinking of switching over to Tricare Standard. Tricare Prime is just becoming too much of a pain in the booty. Yes, it will cost money but the less issues part would be amazing.
Have a great day all.

Day 2
A picture of you and the person you have been closest with the longest:
Obviously, my person is my Mom. My Mom is my best friend and I have always been close to her. I cannot imagine a better parent & role model for me.

Photo Challenge Day 1
A picture of yourself with ten facts.
(As a senior in high school. I am on the desktop PC and don't like any of my other options.)
Ten facts:
1. I recently experimented with typing my grocery list out on the computer. Not sure if I like this method, but may try refining it.
2. Sometimes I feel like the idiot of my book club, because most of the rest have Phd.'s and/or are retired physicists. Not sure how I ended up in that kind of mix, but I like them all.
3. My husband recently asked me to consider staying in Hawaii for another 3 or 4 years....I am still contemplating whether I could do that or not.
4. I think I am going to learn to scuba dive while Avery is gone on this upcoming deployment.
5. My dog can have a mohawk if I comb his hair the right way.
6. I need more color in terms of dress clothes. I have lots of black.
7. We don't own a coffee maker.
8. I have faith that I will see the Cubs in the World Series before I die...along with every other Cubs fan in the world. ;-)
9. I am looking for a pair of high heels with anchors on them.
10. Parts of my left side are still numb from a surgery I had 12 years ago, despite the doctor saying the feeling would come back.

Exhausted and Bummed
Trying very hard not to be negative right now, despite how freakin' difficult it is currently. I have a list of grievances with the world right now.
1. I am trying to get over a stupid UTI, which I only got because we had to TTC with the trigger shot this month.
2. I stayed out way too late with a gal pal and can't seem to get motivated today. Gosh, I must be getting old or just losing my night owl ways.
3. I can tell the trigger shot didn't work, so now it's just a matter of waiting for AF to show the f*ck up, so we can get another cycle started.
AHHHH! I wish I could just skip homework for today (well I can, but that's not the best option academically.)

Things I Like About Where I Live
So...in case it wasn't obvious, I live in Hawaii at one of the largest (maybe the largest...not sure) Naval Bases. Many people complain about living here, so I figured I would make a list about what I like about living here.
1. It's warm most of the time.
2. The only snow we get is on top of Mauna Kea on the Big Island.
3. Malasadas from Leonard's Bakery.
4. The beach all around us.
5. 12 hour days all year round.
6. Cheap flights to the other islands.
7. Largest Navy Exchange in the fleet.
8. Awesome spot to watch the subs and ships leave & come home from.
9. History out the wazoo!
10. Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace (now I will grant that I am a bit biased, since this is where we got married & attend church; it is so beautiful and St. Damian's home church is this one.)
11. North Shore!12. Shave Ice!
13. Dole Plantation
14. Driving the H-3 (goes through the mountains and is just gorgeous!)
15. Luaus and a host of other tourist activities that are curiously fun.

A Typical Saturday Duty Day
Preface: Duty days mean that my husband is on the submarine all day/night and doesn't come home until the next day. Avery is currently on 4-section, which means he has duty every 4 days...sometimes it's 3-section, but we're currently lucky.
So today, while I was doing nothing with my weekend I got to thinking of what the typical weekend duty day is like (it's totally different for me during the week.)
7:30am: Take spouse to duty and tell him to text me.
7:45am: Get home and go back to sleep.
9am: Get up and check email.
10:15am: Finally eat breakfast and wonder what to do with myself.
11:00am: Call Mom for entertainment.
Noon: Print coupons and contemplate a trip to Target.
12:30pm: Clean up the patio and do dishes.
12:50pm: Wander around the house wondering what to do with myself.
1pm: Watch tv/read a book and fall asleep.
2pm: Wake up to dog whining...let him out.
2:03pm: Tell dog to stop barking.
2:30pm: Wander about the house again feeling bored.
3:15pm: Finally go to Target to kill time.
4pm: Realize car gas gauge is on empty; get gas and turn up the radio full blast when Madonna's Vogue comes on.
4:01pm: Text Avery lyrics to Macarena just for the hell of it.
4:30pm: Eat popcorn and flip channels as there is nothing good to watch.
5pm: Avery texts back finally.
5:30pm: He must be bored, he's still texting.
6pm: Play Jeopardy on Nintendo DS and think I should've made plans with someone whose spouse is deployed.
7pm: Play some silly shark game on the internet.
8pm: Add more books to my virtual book shelf.
9pm: Think that maybe I should eat dinner
10pm: Decide to go to bed, because I have nothing else to do.
Hope you enjoyed a look into my life.

New Favorite Website
For all the book readers out there, you have to check this website out. I am seriously in love.
www.shelfari.com
It is the place to find out about any book you've ever read or want to read. I made a virtual bookshelf and have been scouring the site for the past 3 days. I have to tell my book club about this next week.
Go check it out!
(I am not affiliated with nor have I been paid to write this....I just love this site and want to share.)

Long Rant
So my husband extended on the boat last year, for another year so he could go on this year's Westpac deployment. Well apparently the idiots who deal with inputting data from the old paper service record (they just went paperless), never inputted this extension...soooo according to my health insurance which is controlled by the DEERS system, Avery was terminated by the military at the beginning of this year. However, everywhere else says he's still active duty. Yet, until this one system is fixed, I have no health care eligibility of any sort. I called the hotline that they say to call and get an idiot with no sympathetic bone in his body. He tells me my husband's Yeoman (fancy name for people that handle administrative stuff/very important to have) is an idiot and that we never told the military system he was extending. Of course I freak out; this man just says I am out of luck and he cannot do anything. I hang up and find the paper service record that we now have in our possession and what do you know...the paperwork stating he extended on the boat is right there. Signed, sealed and mentioned. So what is the solution now?? I have to somehow get my husband out of work in time to go down to the computer records place and have them update it.
So you want to know where your tax dollars are going??? To pay the unhelpful guy on the phone who is supposed to manage my entire record of info with the military.
End rant!

Well that kind of sucked!
Today's doctor appointment did not go anywhere near as planned. I had a reaction to the Clomid, a not so positive one, there are cysts on one of my ovaries that weren't there before. Then my body also went really early...today is day 6 and I am ready to ovulate (this isn't normal), so they gave me a trigger shot and said have sex. We are changing up the drugs next cycle and starting them earlier. Apparently fertility drugs really make my body work fast. Yay? Maybe? I guess the only good thing about this is that we can move on to the stronger guns (I mean drugs) and my cycle is accelerated, so I gained a week or so with this. Yeah....odd...and maddening. I HATE when things don't go according to the planned course. This wasn't supposed to go this way. AHHH!!!
Yeah...so here we go....infertility journey continues.....

Awesome...I love when dates have numbers that line up like that. Wouldn't it be neat to have a baby born today?
Speaking of a baby.....our baby adventure continues. Trigger shot did not work, as I thought, so we are doing a Clomid cycle and IUI this month. I feel very positive about this cycle and feel that we are finally doing something that has a great chance of success. Now admittedly, part of me is not believing that everything will work, but I think after all that we've been through that is natural. I am pretty calm for the most part and so I hope that helps.
We had a great holiday season. My Mom was here and we had a lot of fun. Avery turned 35 and got some great presents. He was pleased and I was happy to see him pleased.
Mom and I wearing our matching shirts! :-)
Our HP laptop crashed and won't even do a recovery. I really think we got a lemon, because it's been nothing but issues for us from day one. We have a store warranty on it, so I need to call them and see what can be done. I think tax money will go towards a new laptop (just what I wanted to buy...not!) I am very grateful for a fabulous Dell desktop, which has been with me since I graduated high school 8 years ago. I added some memory to it a few years ago, but other then that it is still kicking, even after a few dozen moves & a plane ride to Hawaii!
Now the house is quiet...Mom left on Saturday and Avery is working. I have a lot more time to sit & ponder. Okay, sleep...my reaction to Clomid is exhaustion.
I have another saline sonogram on Thursday....just to check out the ole' uterus and see if she can handle everything.
I feel a little restless. I need to do something. It's time to get a job again. My hunt begins!

P is for....
Procrastinating, because that is what I am currently doing. I have a paper due to end out my class in a little over a hour. Now is this paper done, you ask? Actually, yes it is pretty much done for the most part. It just needs a few little tweaks and it will be golden. However....why would I want write/tweak a paper when I can read about other people's lives on blogspot?
Alright you say....go turn the paper in, so you can pass this class and start a new one tomorrow. Here goes....back later my friends.
